Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection (IMSI)

It is a replacement dimension to the procedure of ICSI. Normally the procedure of ICSI is administered at a magnification that’s twenty fold.The IMSI procedure uses a specialized lens which magnifies the sperm seven thousand-fold . This makes isolation of normal-looking sperm easier.
This is particularly useful when there’s severe male factor infertility, with an outsized proportion of abnormal looking sperm, very compromised sperm motility and count and repeatedly failed IVF procedures.
IMSI caused a big increase within the fertilization and high quality embryo rates within the male infertility group and a big increase in fertilization and pregnancy rates within the repeated implantation failure group, whereas no effect was observed within the non-selected group with patients of varied indications. A positive effect of IMSI on the result of male factor infertility and repeated implantation failure patients was observed. Data observed confirmed that the appliance of IMSI was beneficial for a specific group of patients with male factor infertility and repeated implantation failure.
